Why Coaching? Is it better than therapy? 

WHAT DO I DO?
I am a certified  life-coach and educator. Conventional therapy treats pathology and disorders. The therapist assumes that their patients have psychological issues, focusing on the past, your childhood, and other influences that have cause stress, anxiety, OCD, and other personality disorders.

Instead of assuming you need fixing, we focus on your goals and your desired outcomes.  We treat your our desire to change first in an educational way. We focus on your strengths and empower you to meet your goals.  
2. EDUCATE  
I believe that many problems are not psychological problems. Many people don’t need therapy, they need education and training. I teach life-altering tools and strategies for repairing your troubles and achieving success. Everything you will learn is grounded in scientifically proven principles.
 

3. YOU BECOME THE EXPERT 
 Once you have learned and gained the skills you need to be successful and have successful relationships, my job here is done. My goals are to empower you. This way, once we say goodbye, you won’t need me again because you’ll be able to steer yourself away from danger, and successfully live in freedom.

1. Initial Free Phone Consultation
We will talk for 15 minutes on the phone or Zoom to help you figure out if I can best meet your needs at this time. You will experience a judgment-free environment to explore all your thoughts and questions.
  • We use strength-based and evidence-based tools to help you identify your needs and aspirations.
  • We help you gain insight into your intentions, motivation, and goals. 
  • We look for obstacles that keep you from achieving what you want or patterns that are repeated that make you feel stuck.
  • We set achievable goals and help you meet those goals.

2. The First Appointment
Our first appointment we review your expectations, discuss your coaching needs, and most importantly allow time for us to get to know each other and create a working relationship.

3. Achieving Goals
When we decide to work together, we will schedule meetings based on your needs, goals, and capacity for change. A typical model for coaching is to meet once a week for 60 minutes for the second and third meetings. Then, based on your input and feedback, your coaching schedule may be adjusted. It is important to keep in mind that in the beginning, we'll need consistent appointments to drive foundation-setting and goal creation. Once your project is underway, appointments may be scheduled every 2-3 weeks, or even once a month, for one to three years or until you have achieved your goals. ​
